The Municipal Museum De Lakenhal
Living, working and evocative art in an old Dutch city – visitors to the Municipal Museum de Lakenhal, the former heart of Leiden’s textile industry, are emerged into Leiden's culture from the 16th century to today by means of a variety of objects and paintings. De Lakenhal features collections of old paintings with masterpieces by Lucas van Leyden, Rembrandt and Jan Steen as well as a unique collection of tin, tiles, silver and glass on display in stylish halls. Contemporary art can be regularly viewed in temporary exhibits.
