Tourist Information Office Guide Team (VVV Gidsenteam Leiden)

The Tourist Information Office Guide Team will provide tour guides for all sorts of groups upon request. Your enthusiastic guide will know the city like the back of their hand and will take you to hidden treasures such as the numerous courtyards located throughout the city. You can select from various topics for your walking tours, such as:

General Historical Walking Tour
A tour of historically interesting places.   

Rembrandt Walking Tour
A focus on the artist's early years.

Courtyard Walking Tour
Leiden courtyards are idyllic spots where time seems to have stood still.

Ammunition Disaster Walking Tour
This tour features the area that changed forever due to the disaster with the ammunition ship in 1807 (district of Steenschuur/Rapenburg).

Pilgrim Fathers Walking Tour
Let yourself be surprised by the Pilgrim Tour, a discovery tour through an international part of history. The tracks of the Pilgrim Fathers are visible throughout all of Leiden and are certainly worth a look. The locations still emit the atmosphere of the 17th century.

Academic Walking Tour
This tour features the University buildings, the Botanical Gardens and Rapenburg.

In addition to the above-mentioned walking tours, the Guide Team can also put together customized tour programs. All guides speak the modern languages and are available seven days per week.

Rates

• € 110.00 for the first 1.5 hours
• € 192.50 for a half day (max. 4 hours)
• € 350.00 for an entire day (max. 8 hours)

Leiden Guide Team Guild (Gidsenteam Gilde Leiden)

The Leiden Guild offers you the opportunity all year round to take part in a city and courtyard walking tour. (On Christian holidays the tour will only take place with prior arrangement.)

From January through March
- Sunday 11:30 a.m. City and Courtyard walking tour. Meets at the Leiden Visitor Centre, Stationsweg 41 in Leiden.
- Sunday 2:00 p.m. City and courtyard walking tout. Meets at De Burcht, Burgsteeg in Leiden.

From April through October
- From Tuesday through Friday 11:30 a.m. City and Courtyard walking tour. Meets at the Leiden Visitor Centre, Stationsweg 41 in Leiden.
- Tuesday 2:00 p.m. City and courtyard walking tout. Meets at De Burcht, Burgsteeg in Leiden.
- Thursday 2:00 p.m. City and courtyard walking tout. Meets at De Burcht, Burgsteeg in Leiden.
- Saturday 11:30 a.m. Orange walk. Meets at the Leiden Visitor Centre, Stationsweg 41 in Leiden.
- Sunday 11:30 a.m. City and Courtyard walking tour. Meets at the Leiden Visitor Centre, Stationsweg 41 in Leiden.
- Sunday 2:00 p.m. City and courtyard walking tout. Meets at De Burcht, Burgsteeg in Leiden.

November and December
- Sunday 11:30 a.m. City and Courtyard walking tour. Meets at the Leiden Visitor Centre, Stationsweg 41 in Leiden.
- Sunday 2:00 p.m. City and courtyard walking tout. Meets at De Burcht, Burgsteeg in Leiden.

Every Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. the Guild Guides lead the Pilgrim Fathers Walking Tour starting from the Leiden Pilgrim Archives (Vliet 43).

For all Leiden Guild walking tours, a contribution of € 3.00 per person is requested (children under 12 are free).
